My brilliant little sister is shooting her first feature film, Joy de V. The New York noir is set in Brooklyn and Staten Island. The first scenes are already “in the can.”
Time is tight. And Cinema Imperfecta needs your help! But all is possible. Here is an excerpt from Nadia’s last update.
“Last minute we edited together a four minute clip from our first days of shooting. Gary Meyer, the director of Telluride, included it in the Claudia Cardinale tribute. It screened twice to packed theaters. The first night, at the Sheridan Opera House I sat next to Werner Herzog who presented Claudia with her lifetime achievement award on the very same stage he premiered ‘Fitzcarraldo’ around the same year I was born 25 years ago. It was an unforgettable moment. They screened clips from Claudia’s career including ‘8 1/2’, ‘The Leopard’, ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, ‘The Professionals’, ‘Fitzcarraldo’ and then lastly, ‘Joy de V.”’
